Jalapenos are hot.
Sweet lord all mighty, I’m burning up.
I bought a handful of jalapenos today to make a nice little side dish of poppers for my evening meal. Fat free cream cheese put in the seeded jalapeno, wrapped in turkey bacon and broiled until bubbly will net about 30 calories of tastiness. I’ve made this, sans the turkey bacon and fat free cream cheese, many times before. I planned on eating 6 of them.
Things didn’t work out that way.
I really like jalapenos. I’ll eat them often and put them in all kinds of food for a little kick. Well, these jalapenos were no ordinary jalapenos. They were the hottest damn things I’ve ever put in my mouth. I suspect that the Super Walmart caters to the migrant workers that make up about a quarter of the local population by putting out these green fire peppers. Fair enough, but a little warning would be appreciated. Until then, I’m done with Walmart and the fruit of Satan that they’re trying to pass off as edible. Winn Dixie will get my produce dollars from now on.

Yes sir, coming out will be the fun part. They were probably Guatemalan insanity peppers.

That sounds delicious. I think I’ll completely ignore your warning and cook some up myself. And by “cook some up myself,” I mean “ask my wife nicely to cook some up for me.”

I made this recipe last night (adding green onions to the cream cheese) — damn good, my friends.
