Good riddance, Holidays.
I’m glad that this is the last day of the holidays. Although I’ve been pretty good (eating wise), I still have dabbled where I should not have. Those temptations were not around when we first started this, and I’ll be glad that they’ll be absent again.
I had forgotten in my earlier posts that my wife was having a Christmas party for her work. That was last night. Of course, they chose an Italian restaurant — which in my opinion is the hardest place to find healthy food because everything has cheese of some sort smothering it, or it is drenched in olive oil. I did find a baked chicken parmageano, but of course when it came to the table I could not see the chicken breast for all of the cheese. I was able to scrape most of it off, however.
It’ll be interesting to see how I do tomorrow. I have not eaten poorly this past week, but for some reason I feel in a “rut” of sorts. I did manage a couple of visits to the gym this week, but a cripplingly sore back and a bad cold has sidelined me the past few days. I tried to go at 7 this morning, but it was closed (can you believe that?!?!). It was devastating, since it took all of the gumption I could muster to drag my aching, stuffed-up ass over there, only to be thwarted by lazy gym staff. I may venture over there later this afternoon.
I will not be going out for a big New Year’s Eve celebration, so that’ll save some calories. Odds are I will not even be awake to ring in the new year. My main resolution is, of course, to hit my goal in this deal. Here’s to all of us making that resolution and sticking to it. Hit it hard next year, boys.
