The Heel crawls forward
I haven’t weighed in yet today, but yesterday still saw me down only three pounds to 294. I know mid afternoon isn’t the best time to weigh in, but I’ll do it at lunch. I feel better, but am sure the scale will start moving left in a big way in upcoming weeks.
Weigh In
2 pounds is all I could manage this week dropping me to 279. I haven’t started exercising and I still drink too much so I am pretty happy with the results, all things considered. Look for more details about my week on my home page.
The Monk is not satisfied
A couple of “cheat” meals slowed progress this week. On Thursday I took my mother out for lunch. I’m a good son. Cracker Barrel makes a tasty chicken fried steak. My GF’s sister MADE me eat hot dogs and chili yesterday. Anyway, those two meals alone breached my 1200 calorie a day limit. I was […]
The Cap’n continues incredible streak
I lost another 3 pounds this week. 221.4 is the official number. It’s not too hard when you realize that you’d been taking in somewhere in the neighborhood of 47,000 calories per day, and then you cut back to a reasonable 1,800 to 2,000 calories per day.
I’m sure in the coming weeks I’ll hit a […]
Feeling better already
I may be imagining it (but who cares, really), but I think I’m already starting to feel better with this good eating business. Hard to put a finger on “how” exactly I’m feeling better, but all the water and good food seems to be giving me more energy throughout the day and much less of […]
The Achilles heel (Heel..get it?) vanquished?
I have switched totally to sweet n low in the tea now and have been off of traditional southern sugar-sludge tea for a week. Now, this might not come as a suprise to you all, but having never counted a calorie in my life I was surprised by something. There are NO calories in tea whatsoever. […]
Spreading the Massive Beasts Love
Well, I’ve begun emailing friends of ours from high school and college about this site, and to their credit, most of them have refrained from telling me how nauseated they must have been to see our starting pictures. They are getting quite a laugh out of it, which is to be expected, and everyone’s been […]
Cauliflower (sort of like a radish…but not really)
Another good vegetable for me is cauliflower. I have one question though. I eat it raw, with the stalk still on. Are we supposed to eat the stalk? I don’t want to end up being that dude off “Swamp Thing.”
The Radish
I think I’ve found a lunchtime secret weapon–radishes. I love those little suckers. With my salad I usually eat a little bag (around 8 different sized radishes) and a granola bar. The lowfat Thousand Island dressing is good stuff too. Lunch is my best meal. I eat here, then truck to the Y for a […]
Test run on the graphic
We lost a whopping 15% of our goal in week one. Most of this is probably water weight so I’m sure the pace will slow down. If not Josh better get saving!!! I am also testing out our little dandy dynamic thermometer style graphic. As we shrink it will grow. […]
