I love Someone’s In The Kitchen
Yes, it’s actually me saying that. I went in there the other day for the first time, because until then, I thought they just sold cookware, and that would put it alongside fabric stores and Hobby Lobby as places I never want to spend time in, ever.
But I was misinformed, because they sell all kinds of fancy-schmancy sauces, spices, jellies, etc. I wanted to just point out the gourmet mustard because, while they are expensive (like $6 a jar), they are freaking delicious, and the sauces they sell could keep me eating chicken breasts and lean fish for years, so long as I have some of these gourmet concotions in which to dip them. And of course, I am talking about stuff that’s still low in fat and calories, like mustards, marinades, etc. I am not referring to the gourmet hot fudge caramel buttercrunch fondue type stuff they carry, for obvious reasons.
Oh yeah, they also carry some no-calorie seasoning that’s butter and garlic flavored (they probably have other ones, too, but that’s what I bought), and I used some of that on my Egg Beaters yesterday morning. I have always tolerated Egg Beaters because they’re nutritionally flawless and also filling, but I can’t say that I just loves me some Egg Beaters, mainly because I don’t love eggs in any form. However, the garlic/butter powder did for the Beaters what the gourmet mustards did for the chicken/fish — made it an enjoyable eating experience.
My point is, $6 for a small jar of mustard is only expensive if you look at it in a vacuum. If you look at it as something that keeps your eating strict for additional weeks, months, or beyond, then it’s the deal of the century. Or at least the week. The Deal of the Century would be like landing a Bulletboys CD for 76 cents.

We have a store like that down here that has every kind of food item imaginable. It also doubles as a massive wine store which makes it doubly good.
That is a fine point about looking long term at the price of eating healthy. $6 mustard now versus thousands of dollars of medical bills later. That is a pretty easy decision when you keep it in perspective.
