Cheater, Cheater
Just chiming in here about a cheat meal. I do a cheat meal per week, just to stay sane and keep from overindulging accidentally. After an excellent week, today will be mine. Think I’ll stick to my traditional Taco John’s bean burritos (without subtracting the cheese). Unless Mrs. G chimes in and reminds me of something else I want, but have forgotten about. Anyone else got favorite cheats to share? I may have to grab me a Coldstone for dessert as well, but after that meal, it’s back at the grind. My mantra that I hope to pass on to other Beasts:
Cheat meals, not cheat days.

Damn — I didn’t realize that bean burritos were considered cheats! That’s a little tough, isn’t it? I guess with the cheese — but I eat bean burritos all the time (at home though — so I make sure the beans are fat free), with onions, tomatoes and either no cheese or 1 serving of 2% cheddar divided among 2 burritos.
If you don;t count those as cheats, I don’t cheat at all, really. For me, that’d be a slippery slope.
I guess alcohol is a cheat though — so that’s mine.

Saturday before last I had a pork bbq sangqwich on garlic toast with fries and a side of baked beans. It was delicious. Can’t say I’ve had any terrible meals since then.

Wow. That sounds spectacular. That’s EXACTLY why I try not to cheat — I’d eat that meal right there, slip into a rage and go on an insanity eating binge.

Yeah, it’s the cheese that makes them cheat meals to me. Takes the fat from like 5g to 13g per burrito.
Alcohol is a bona fide cheat. At least, it is the way I’ve known you to drink it. I suppose if you’re sipping a glass or two of wine or having a beer or two, that ain’t no cheat.

Don’t drink beer at all anymore (not that I wouldn’t, I just don’t). We’ll drink a bottle of wine between the 2 of us, or I’ll have a Vodka with lite fruit punch.
It’s definitely a cheat, but one I’m not cutting out unless and until it appears that my goal is in jeopardy (which will not happen, I predict).

That being said — I feel a big cheat (at least alcohol-wise) coming on in Vegas. I’ll just work extra hard when I get back — but it Vegas, Baby!

Now, now you can’t consume mass amounts of booze in Vegas, because unfortunately that won’t stay in Vegas.
As for cheat meals, I used to look forward to The General having them, because it meant I could have a good meal out as well. But now that we live in this windy God forsaken hole–there isn’t any delicious Walnut Shrimp, or Orange Shrimp or Aloo Mateer or Aloo Paratha. Or Cheesecake Factory cheesecake or anything yummy. Sigh. Not my best day I guess.
You have to admit that something is wrong with a place that votes Taco Johns as having the best tacos in town.

Taco Johns has the best Tacos in the universe.
Rapid isn’t that bad for restaurants. I’d say it’s on par with Tallahassee (the biggest city around here)

Yeah, perhaps it isn’t that bad. But if your husband’s usual suggestion on where to eat out is Taco John’s, then you are screwed.
