Settling for six inches….

Ahem….I guess I should elaborate on that heading.  I had school last night so I had to eat on the fly.  I went to a subway right near campus.  I would just like to take a minute to say something about Subway.  I know they have their own semi-literate massive weight-loss spokesperson and all, but I just have to commend them on the way they have calorie and fat counter menus up all over the place.  It really helped me make a good decision on my supper last night.  Anyway, I was going to opt for the footlong sweet onion chicken on wheat (about 730 calories) and have no qualms about it.  I’ve been doing good with exercise/diet lately and maybe it was time to splurge.  Then I did something phenomenal.  A true turning point in my life.  I opted for…….the SIX INCH!!!  A mere 370 calories!!!  This occasion marked the first time in 1,234,654 visits to Subway that I have not purchased the footie.

Email Rob (I need all the encouragement I can get!)

That’s funny — I started doing that too. I used to scoff at the bastards that would not take advantage of the entire foot of sandwich. But now I’m one of those bastards. And it fills me up just fine (I have them throw the equivalent of an entire head of lettuce on it too).

They come in 6 inches? Just kidding. I also get the veggie version regularly. It is basically a salad on a bun.

I haven’t eaten there in quite a while, since there’s a Pauly’s in the same parking lot as my office, but yeah, sandwich places in general are the best. I feel lucky that I’m one of those people who could eat two sandwiches like that a day, every day of my life and be happy with it.

Anyhoo, nice work there, Rob. Probably got a sharp weigh-in coming tomorrow.
