Week 1 is in the books, and I’m “less of a man” than I was, so to speak. I lost about 7 and a half pounds (Current weight: 224.5). Not too bad for week 1 (or any week for that matter).

The best part is that I did not feel like I was struggling to live. This is very important to me because I want this to NOT be a diet, but a change in the way I eat forever. If I feel like I am struggling, then I will just look forward to the end of the contest so I can start eating like Chris Farley again.

I had Morningstar Farms sausage on English muffin every day for breakfast, usually a salad with baked chicken for lunch and at dinner I had a low fat meal of much smaller portions than usual. The rest of the time when my stomach started to growl, I’d eat some dreaded celery and carrots, a Smart Start breakfast bar, or a banana. And I was constantly drinking water. I went through over two cases of bottled water by myself last week. It seems like a very good meal plan for the week, and I have no complaints so this is what I plan to stick with from here on out.

I went out for a couple of meals because I was out of town for the weekend. I asked for a diet menu each time, and they always had one. I found some good stiff to eat that way (without worrying about calories and fat).

The other good thing (sort of) is that I did it without exercise — or at least gym exercise. That reason I say that is good is because when I add that I know I can do even better. Of course, it is never necessarily “good” to skip the exercise, which is why I said “sort of.”

That is without a doubt one of the saddest, most shocking, and downright repugnant things I have ever read. Phrases such as “a change in the way I eat forever”; “I know I can do even better”; and “celery” make me feel as though a trillion little microscopic insects are crawling around just beneath my skin, gnawing away and reproducing rapidly. I wish you safe passage into the Hell you’ve decided to create for yourself.

Believe you me — I’m no less repulsed by it than you are.

As long as you’re taking requests, I’d like for you to pose completely nude next week, preferably while having intercourse with a sea otter.

  15. 15 The Pirate 18 January 2007 @ 12:34 pm

I’ve seen that before and it ain’t pretty.

    DS-
Just checkin’ in on your progress…keep it up! While some of the pictures are disturbing, to say the least, your progress deserves accolades! Come visit the Lou soon! My brother opened his personal training studio (www.180pt.com) and would gladly give you a session over a weekend to give you some new ideas and keep you motivated!
    :)

  17. 17 The Captain 19 January 2007 @ 10:58 am

Spectacular! Thanks for checking in. I’m down about 18 so far — at least 12 more to go, but I’m in the groove now and it’s getting easier and easier.

We have new pictures up every Tuesday, so check back. If you think these are disturbing, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. Doug requested I pose naked while having intercourse with a sea otter. I’ve been unable to locate a sea otter thus far, but you never know…

  18. 18 The Monk 23 January 2007 @ 11:29 am

Couldn’t find an otter, huh? That’s okay. This week’s pic is outstanding!
